Design Your Own 100% Cotton Bunny Bedding Set for the Ikea Duktig Doll Bed

Did you purchase one of those awesome IKEA Duktig doll beds for your furbaby and wonder if you could get a more paw friendly bedding pad with a even cuter print?  I did, so I decided to make a bedding set out of 100% cotton for my bunny Mochi.  He loved it, so I decided to make it for other bun pawrents.  

Please note this does not include the wood bed, this you can get at IKEA in store or online or even at Amazon.  We do however include a gift of a name decal for their bed.

Our bedding set includes a bedding pad, pillow and blanket (sorry it does not include the actual wooden bed).  They are made from your choice of two different prints, each of the individual prints will be on one side of each of the 3 items, so they are reversible - you get two looks in one bed set!  

The materials used in our regular set is bun chewer friendly and biodegradable, as the 2 pieces of fabric on the outside of each piece is 100% cotton and the four layers of high loft batting for the pad is 100% cotton without any scrim (synthetic material) added. I use 100% Cotton thread as well. The pillow is stuffed with 100% organic ginned cotton with the seeds removed; unless you choose the poly fill version which is better if you desire the pillow to be the same puffiness after you wash and dry it, as the cotton tends to bunch up together a little so you may need to re fluff it a little by pulling the fibers apart from outside of the pillow.  I do stuff it pretty full though, so you shouldn't have that much of a problem. If you do choose the poly fill pillow, keep in mind that if your bun does chew through things, they may end up ingesting some of those synthetic fibers which may cause blockage... And poly fill is not biodegradable. 

Most of the fabric I use is flannel, however I have added on a bunch of quilting cotton that is labeled with NF or not flannel.  What is the difference? The flannel is brushed by the manufacturer to make it soft as well as a little more absorbent and a little warmer but needs to be washed on cold, gentle and dried on low. The regular cotton looks better after washing if you do so on warmer temperatures, is not as absorbent, but will still be somewhat absorbent because of the several thick layers of cotton. After drying though it may wrinkle, so you may have to iron if you care about that.  The regular cotton is a little cooler also.  You can mix and match the two, flannel and non flannel.

All pieces are washable and with proper care they should last a really long time.

Please note that I am hand assembling and machine sewing each piece myself, so measurements may be just a little different as the batting at times shifts when I'm sewing.  I hand sew each pad closed, so there is one part of the pad along the edge where you will notice this if you look for it.  Each pad is top stitched on the top to ensure that the flat batting inside does not bunch up.

Our home is a smoke free home, and we wash all our fabric in a non toxic non fragranced detergent.  

Depending upon our orders, it takes about 3 to 7 business days for me to complete the set, then I feverishly run it to the post office to get it to you as soon as possible.  If you choose to communicate via text then I can text you the final product.  You can also message me using the messenger icon or thru email.
